Nasce dall' osservazione della dinamica da panchina, ovvero che una sola persona seduta rende la panchina occupata, quindi si va a cercare una panchina libera.
I motivi possono essere molteplici, la diffidenza nei confronti di un' altra persona, la paura di entrare nella privacy altrui, la voglia di stare soli, ecc....

L'idea per il progetto è di chiedere a degli sconociuti di sedersi su una panchina per essere fotografati assieme.
Il fotografo non interviene nella posa, solo la richiesta di rimanere fermi per circa 4 secondi, il tempo necessario all'esposizione. Non c'è quindi da parte del fotografo la ricerca dell'istante in cui fotografare, ma sono le persone ritratte che decidono come rimanere nella fotografia.

La panchina come simbolo di un luogo pubblico, dove la gente, a prescindere dall'etnia, dal sesso, dall'età può convivere senza problemi. Non necessariamente c'è contatto o interazione, magari c'è anche distacco e rigidità, ma si può condivedere lo stesso luogo e vivere serenamente.

I asked a passing strangers to sit down and be photographed together on a park bench.
I give no instruction to theme, other than telling theme to remaine still for 4 seconds.
The bench is the symbol of public place where different ethnicities can existe and stay together.
